Frequently asked questions
How do you use motion search?
-
Click on search in the top left-hand corner and select motion search
-
A drop down menu will appear, click on the motion search option
-
Once the window is open, select the camera you would like to do motion search with
-
Once the camera is selected it will populate in a window to the right
-
Use the tools above the window to create a box or selected area within the video screen
-
After selecting the desired area, choose the time/date parameters
-
Once the time and date have been selected, choose the number of clips ranging from 10 to 25
-
To start the motion search click on the "search forward from selected time" button
-
Motion clips will populate
How do I dewarp a 360 camera?
-
Double click or click and drag a 360 camera from the camera tree into the middle of the empty spotter window
-
Hover over the camera
-
In the bottom left hand corner a menu will appear
-
Click on the arrow below "360 view"
-
Under 360 view the view,camera position, and dewarp settings can me be adjusted
-
left click on the camera to see different areas
-
right click and use the mouse wheel to scroll
How to export a video?
-
Start by hovering over the camera and in the bottom left hand corner a menu will appear
-
Click export and the camera name will pull up at the bottom of the screen in the export window
-
Note: You can export up to 8 cameras at once
-
Above the time line you can choose the date, time, and how much video you would like to export
-
To choose the amount of video you would like to export simply move the start/end brackets to your desired time
-
You can also set the brackets to go the beginning and end of the selected time using the buttons above the time line
-
Once you have the amount of video selected that you would like to export, click export
-
After clicking the export button a pop-up window will appear
-
In that window the location, name, copy player, format, encode quality, and key frame interval can all be modified
-
Under format There are four options to choose from which are; SEF, ASF, AVI and Matroska (MKV)
-
Note: the best option for exporting will be SEF. The process takes a lot less time and the video when exported, will be watermarked as well as passed through video verification.

After the desired parameters have been set, click the green export button
-

How do I use Spotter thumbnail search?

Click on search in the top left-hand corner and select thumbnail search
-
A drop down menu will appear, click on the thumbnail search option

Once the window is open select a camera from the camera tree on the left
-
Double click or click & drag the camera into the window on the right hand side
-
Edit the date and time functions
-
Use the "thumbnail count" drop down to select the desired number of thumbnails
-
Click the "search forward from selected time" button to start the search
-
Double click one of the thumbnails to break the video down further
